Fashion designer nowadays becomes frenzy and are trendy, and the adorable outfits that are crafted add more flavour to one’s personality. It offers assorted choices like contemporary outlook, orthodox, classical and semi-classical outlook -- people are crazy to just flow with these outfits and as a ‘fashion designer’ one needs to cope up with these challenges and satiate their demands also.

Most fashion designers are delighted to explore modern outfits which is quite common but to go with the uncommon outfit is quite risky and a bit challenging. Yes, Kriti Tula, a young fashion designer, delve into crafts and culture through waste products [recyclable products] and is firmly believed through upcycling, she maintains the ethical practice in fashion and keeps up a safe and healthy environment.

 


She with her innovative methods upcycle waste of factory products and convert waste into accessories. Here you can find the genre of style clothing which canvas various segments of apparel design namely women’s wear, kid’s wear, men’s wear, sportswear and other adornments.

Mainly her specialties in women's wear apparel designing, trend analysis and research.

In 2014, she set up her sustainable fashion label Doodlage and with her unique idea never assume that success lay ahead and welcome her with open arms! Slowly and gradually her brand has been recognized and the consumer has accepted her outfits and she will be loved and known as India’s most eco-fashion label.  

It is thoughtful indeed and in 2015, her hard work paid off. She was acknowledged by the Lakme Fashion Week Gen Next Platform and soon after won the award for ‘Green Wardrobe Initiative’ by HUL and Grazia Young Fashion Award. Her Doodlage was recognised by Elle Graduates as an exciting young designer to watch especially for great thought and her immense contribution in the field of eco-fashion, which is quite amazing and noteworthy.  

Now, everyone knows Kriti Tula’, Creative Director & co-owner at Doodlage. She has featured in Forbes for recognition of working towards the United Nation’s sustainable development goals (SDGs). She also appeared as one of the guests on a show organized by CNBC TV 18 titled “Changing India.”  

 


Being an avid environmentalist, she knows how fashion can damage to the environment in the process of creating more clothes and how it leads to wastage of natural resources.  

During the journey of fashion designing, she has a desire to do something own, should be unique and innovative and more importantly which has not been achieved by many or rather the first person to take the initiative and that is why in April 2012, Doodlage fashion label commenced with the elementary idea of upcycling and recycling of waste material to form a fresh piece of wearable fabric.

Doodlage means tailoring waste into fashion. No doubt, fashion is a costly affair and to keep check of the environment value, Doodlage is looking out for recycling of waste material, which reduces power consumption and prevents waste across industries. Otherwise, it will be a looming problem for the fashion industry!

 

Her main motto is to be more committed to building a social enterprise and recyclable products in the form of fabric which should be at an affordable price to the consumers. A great endeavour and a great thought, which will certainly bring a change to society. 

Any budding fashion designer can get inspiration from Kriti Tula. She gives a new and fresh way of looking at the art of design. A fashion designer is not just fabric, it is an art that enshrines the level of good along with positiveness and a thoughtful measure to save the resource and the planet with style.
